The Giant Slayer, Inc. is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the development and advancement of young men and women. Our mission is to address both their immediate needs and long-term goals by providing mentorship, job readiness programs, educational workshops, and essential resources such as food and clothing. Through these initiatives, we aim to break cycles of poverty and equip individuals to become productive and empowered members of society.
The organization was established in loving memory of Evangelist Joyce L. Rodgers, an esteemed minister, evangelist, and youth leader within the Church of God in Christ. Renowned for her global ministry and unwavering commitment to encouraging and uplifting young people, Evangelist Rodgers inspired countless lives through her powerful messages. The name “Giant Slayer” originated from one of her most impactful sermons, which earned her the affectionate title by which she became widely known. Although Evangelist Rodgers passed away on May 19, 2021, her legacy of faith, empowerment, and service continues to inspire the mission of The Giant Slayer, Inc.
At The Giant Slayer, we envision a world where every young man and woman—no matter their background or circumstance—has the opportunity, confidence, and support to rise above life’s challenges and realize their full potential. We believe that by equipping youth with practical life skills, education, mentorship, and essential resources, we can break cycles of disadvantage and build a generation of resilient, responsible, and purpose-driven leaders. Our vision is to see communities transformed from within—one empowered individual at a time—creating lasting change that echoes through families, neighborhoods, and beyond.
